ABOUT THE ROLE

As our UNLOCKED intern, you’ll be working with two of STV’s creative teams, our: In-house Creative team and our Commercial Creative team.

Our In-house Creative team works closely with STV’s Marketing team to support STV’s brand and marketing strategy and our Commercial Creative team works with our Commercial team creating ad campaigns for brands advertising on STV. This placement includes working with each for two weeks, as part of their production team, supporting the development and delivery of multi-platform ad campaigns for both STV and our clients.

During this placement, you will get experience in:

  • Being part of our production teams, helping to shape the campaigns we make for STV and our advertisers

  • Gaining an understanding of the production process from planning and budgeting to conception and delivery

  • Managing projects and liaising with stakeholders and colleagues to support the production team and deliver campaign assets

  • Taking part in creative sessions, feeding in ideas and solutions to address our client and stakeholder briefs

  • Attending shoots and aiding production colleagues with pre-production, on set tasks and management (dependent on availability)

A DAY IN THE LIFE AT STV

Day to day this role includes lots of communication. As a production intern, you’ll build a thorough understanding of the creative and production process in order to support the team to deliver great campaigns. This could take the form of more formal meetings with stakeholders or clients, understanding their briefs, sharing work in progress or supporting on pitches.

Or you could be planning ahead with creative colleagues – understanding what’s possible within time or budgets agreed or what other info they might need in order to deliver to brief.

You might also spend some time brainstorming ideas and concepts or learning about marketing, commercial or digital working practices. It’s likely you’ll shadow and support the team producers on larger jobs but you might also lead on some smaller campaigns yourself. We’ll be on hand to help and support your development every step of the way.
